Regulatory framework and zones

ATEX 2014/34/EU
Equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres is subject to the ATEX product directive. Suitability must be demonstrated through appropriate design and documentation.
Zone 1 (gases/vapours)
Area where an explosive atmosphere of gases or vapours may occasionally occur. The PA-AYA series covers Zone 1 depending on the variant.
Zone 21 (dusts)
Dust-laden areas where an explosive atmosphere may occasionally occur – for example in mills or bulk solids handling.
Other zones
Whether a variant is suitable beyond Zone 1 and 21 is verified on request based on the documentation for the specific part number.
